What is a nurse patient advocate?

Patient advocacy benefits the client, clients' families, and health care professionals. By hiring me to be your or a loved one's patient advocate, my role is to support you in the communication between your healthcare experience and your healthcare providers.


How can Leslie help me?

I, Leslie Racz, am a professional who will advocate for my clients, the patient, by providing for the following:

-I assess your wishes around your health care needs and listen to your story and concerns. I will tailor a unique plan of care that meets your needs.

-I incorporate integrative health needs as suits the client Ex: Naturopathy, psychology, and meditation.

-I coach you to cope with the emotional, mental, and social effects of a life-altering diagnosis, both outside and within the hospital setting, to improve the client's quality of life.

-I Educate the client about their illness/disease and network resources that suit the client's needs uniquely.

-I coordinate clinical liaison between the health care team and client, representing the client's needs.

-I Review clients' health care test results, maintaining a log of health information with current results.

-I Notify you of your legal rights around privacy, confidentiality, chart access, second opinions, and informed consent.

-I Empower clients at appointments, reviews, and bedside.

-I Provide awareness building, support, and education to patients and families.

-I Offer a voice on behalf of the patient.

Can I talk with Leslie before committing to a service?

In your initial assessment, I will hear your story and all your concerns. I charge for my initial consultation. My hourly rate $150 per hour.


From there I will offer you a plan and you can decide if you'd like to use any of my services moving forward.

How does payment work?

After your initial assessment (call or meeting with me), I will send you an invoice for the amount of time we chat for. Based on your inquiry and needs I will recommend what services and support you will need. Moving forward, I will send you an invoice for an estimated amount of hours we will have together through your health journey. Time can always be added as we proceed.

*Payment is required before my time with you begins.

*An invoice and short agreement will be emailed your way for your review and confirmation.

*Payment is accepted by E-Transfer only to Leslie@youfirstadvocacy.com

Does Leslie come to my appointments?

Yes! I can virtually or physically attend your doctor's appointment. A part of this service is a review of the effectiveness of the current plan of care and offering solutions to the patients' concerns. I will meet with you to set the appointment goals, take notes, record, and provide a post write-up of the appointment within 48 hours.

Are your services covered by Health Care benefits?

Unfortunately no. You can inquire with your Insurance provider to see if they cover these services under your 'Health Spending Account'. Alternatively, you can ask your accountant if this can be applied to your medical expenses for tax purposes.
